Moving On!

We spent the first part of the day strolling through the Farmers' Market in Ashville, NC.

And then enjoyed the rest of the beautiful fall day on the patio with our boy.  Moving on tomorrow and want to be rested and ready for a long day on the road.

Some knitting progress to report: the traveling sock.

Camping

The Lodge at Stonewall Jackson Resort as viewed from our campsite.

Artie, a happy camper.

Pretty place.  Too bad we're only here for one night.  But we're coming back soon so Bill can spend some time on the other side of the lake.

In the Company of Knitters

I'm not talking about just any knitters.

I attended Knitters' Day Out this weekend and Steph and I were fortunate enough to have two sessions with Barbara Walker.

It was awesome!

Go Box, Go!!!

While our box is flying around the western states, I'm working on a toe-up sock of my own design.

I feel it's important to keep my knitting skills sharp.  It's the least I can do for the team.

Go X-treme Rag Taggers!  Amanda in Texas, are you ready!

If you don't know about Dish Rag Tag you can click on the button in the side bar for a detailed explanation.

This map shows all the states the X-treme Rag Tagger's box will need to travel to before crossing the finish line back in Alabama where it started.

Unintended Absence

It has been far too long since I have posted.  I have learned  that I can be a very focused person.  So much so that being caught up in one event can cause temporary blindness to other things going on in my life.  For the past several, stressful weeks I have been working through a medical ordeal with my dear boy, Artie.

I am very glad to tell you that the crisis is over, at least for now, and he is stable, happy and enjoying life again.  And my life can return to some sort of normalcy.  Hopefully, that means you'll be seeing some activity here, because there's knitting fun coming soon that I need to tell you about.

The Knitters Have Left the Building

Last night was the final session of the cardigan sweater class that I have been teaching since the middle of April.   Some students were finished with their sweater and some were nearly finished but all left with new confidence and new knitting skills.  It was a fun class with wonderfully friendly and interactive knitters and I am proud of every one of them.  But I think I am experiencing empty nest syndrome!  What am I going to do now?

I'm thinking that I should take advantage of this break in my teaching schedule and turn my focus back to getting some new sock designs down on  paper.  I have a lot of fun playing with different stitch patterns when I'm knitting socks and it's fun to be able to share the results with fellow sock knitters.

Would a pattern for this sock entice anyone?

And just because I don't have a lot of photo content for this post, I'll leave you with a view from my deck as I sip the last of my late afternoon coffee.
